About

A familiar Greek proverb states, “The beginning is the half of every action,” and such was the case when Hal Roe made the decision to move his family from Sevierville, Tennessee, to Cleveland, Tennessee, to open Bradley Equipment Rentals. What started on October 1, 1992, as a general tool and equipment rental business in a leased 2,500-square-foot building at 1010 South Lee Highway has now grown to include party and event rentals as a major part of the business. In June 2004, Bradley Equipment Rentals moved into a new 14,000-square-foot building at 336 Grove Avenue, NW, just a short distance from the original location.

Bradley Equipment Rentals began in 1992 with a staff of two which included Hal Roe and one other employee. Steadily increasing sales combined with a continuous stream of contractors and other customers lined up to open accounts confirmed Hal’s choice of Cleveland as the site for the new business. In 1994, Hal’s son Tommy joined the growing company and the rest, as they say, is history.

In 1995, Bradley Equipment Rentals entered the party and event rental business on a very small scale when they began offering tables, chairs and tents. As the business continued to grow, space became a major challenge, and the Roe’s acquired 2.25 acres located one-fourth mile from the original location and joined forces with an architect and general contractor. Following approximately six months of construction, Bradley Equipment Rentals moved into a much needed new building in June 2004.

The modern 14,000-square-foot structure includes a state-of-the-art customized computer system, three offices and a 5,000-square-foot showroom divided between equipment and tools and party and event rentals. A maintenance and repair shop, a wash bay, a drive-thru loading zone, a 3,000-square-foot equipment warehouse and a 3,000-square-foot party warehouse complete the layout and provide a much more functional space for both staff and customers. The company continues to be family owned and operated, and in 2004 the name was changed from Bradley Equipment Rentals to Bradley Rentals to better accommodate the party and event rental division of the business. With new surroundings, expansion into party and event rentals and a commitment to being a leader in the rental industry, Bradley Rentals is positioned to meet the needs of its customers far into the future.

Will someone show me how to use the equipment I rent?
Our rental technicians will show you how to safely and correctly operate the equipment you are renting and will answer any questions you may have. We also have instructional videos available for much of our equipment.

Can I reserve equipment in advance?

How are rental rates calculated?
Rates are charged based on time out–including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays– and are calculated as follows:

            Hours Included on Meter

Rental Period Customer Pays For (For Metered Equipment Only)
1 Day (24 Hours) 1 Day 8 Hours
1 Week (7 Days) 4 Days 40 Hours
4 Weeks (28 Days) 12 Days 160 Hours

Minimum 4-hour rates are also available on some items.

How does the rental process work in terms of the deposit required and methods of payment accepted?
To rent equipment from Bradley Rentals, you will need a current driver’s license from which we will obtain the required customer information. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, debit cards and cash. If you are using a credit card or debit card, your card will be charged for the amount of time you indicate you will be keeping the equipment. When the equipment is returned, your card will be charged for additional time out or credited for early return based on the actual amount of time you kept the equipment. If cash is used for your deposit, you will be required to leave an amount totaling 3 times the day rate. When the equipment is returned, the actual rate will be deducted from the cash deposit and the balance returned to you.

Are there any special rates available for overnight or weekend rentals?
For the convenience of our customers, Bradley Rentals has special evening and weekend rates. These rates are as follows:

Evening Rentals: Rent an item after 2:00 pm standard time (3:00 pm daylight savings time) Monday through Friday and return it by 9:00 am the next morning for the minimum rental rate. Metered items allow 4 hours on the hour meter.

Weekend Rentals: You may rent an item after 12:00 noon on Friday and return it by 9:00 am on Monday for 1.5 times the day rate. Metered items allow 12 hours on the hour meter.

For either evening or weekend rentals, all equipment must be returned by the specified time to receive the special rate. If items are not returned by the specified time, normal rates will apply.

How do I get the items I’ve rented?
You may either pick up the items or Bradley Rentals will be glad to deliver and pick up for a reasonable fee. If you decide to pick up your order, we will assist you in loading and unloading the items; however, the risk and responsibility for protecting our equipment and your vehicle is yours. If you would like for Bradley Rentals to deliver, this must be scheduled in advance, and the area where you would like the items to be placed must be clear when our driver arrives.

Do I need to be at the site when the items are delivered?
Yes. It is necessary for you or your representative to be available at the site when your items are delivered to check the items for accuracy, to receive any necessary operating instructions and to sign the rental contract. Any shortages, damaged items or operating problems must be reported to Bradley Rentals immediately or the items and quantities listed on your contract will be considered accurate.

What is my responsibility as a customer?
The customer is responsible for all equipment rented from the time of receipt until the time of return. Please be sure all rented items are secured when not in use and protected from inclement weather as necessary. Bradley Rentals is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Do I need an appointment to visit your showroom?
Appointments are recommended but not required during our regular business hours. Scheduling an appointment, however, will make it possible for our Event Consultant to set aside the time needed to discuss your specific event and to assist you in determining what items will best meet your needs.

What period of time do the rental rates cover?
Our rental rates are based on a one-day/one-use charge. Normally, this includes delivery or customer pickup on the day of or the day prior to your event and return the next regular business day after your event. If you wish to rent items for an extended period of time, please call for long-term rates. All charges are for time out, whether used or not. We must re-wash and re-pack all rentals to ensure that every customer receives sanitized, undamaged and user-ready items.

Do I need to make a reservation?
While our inventory is extensive, reservations are recommended in order to guarantee availability of the items you want.

How do I make a reservation?
To confirm a reservation, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required on tents and a 25% non-refundable deposit on all other items. The balance of payment is due in full one week prior to pickup or delivery.

Can I obtain a quote without making a formal reservation?
We will be glad to provide you with a quote; however, please understand that no items are reserved until a formal reservation has been completed and a deposit has been received.

What if I do not see the items I need?
Bradley Rentals is continually adding new items to our rental and retail inventory. If the item you want is not listed, please call us. It is possible that we may have added it or that we can direct you to someone who does.

What payment options are available?
Bradley Rentals accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover and cash. An additional deposit amount may be required when paying by cash.

Can I make changes to my order?
We realize that it is not unusual for guest counts to change as the event date approaches. Additions are welcome subject to availability, and small deletions prior to delivery can be accommodated. Significant deletions to your reservation, however, may result in forfeiture of your deposit.

What is our cancellation policy?
If it should become necessary to cancel your order, please do so as soon as possible so the items become available for those who may need them. If the reservation is cancelled, the non-refundable deposit is forfeited. Cancellation of special order items will result in forfeiture of 100% of the total fee for those items.

How do I get the items I’ve rented?
You may either pick up the items or Bradley Rentals will be glad to deliver and pick up your order for a reasonable fee.

What about delivery and pickup after our regular business hours, on weekends or on holidays?
Although we discourage requests for after-hours delivery and pickup, each situation is evaluated on an individual basis and is subject to availability of staff and vehicles. Overtime charges will apply in addition to our regular delivery and pickup fees.

Where will you leave the equipment?
Our delivery service is based on ground level entrance only and for delivery and pickup during regular hours of operation. Our drivers are instructed to stack rentals in a mutually convenient place, and all items should be ready for pickup at the same location. Additional labor charges will apply for any steps, elevators or significant distance that must be navigated at the event location. Customers are asked to advise us in advance of any anticipated challenges so we can schedule the necessary time and labor to complete the job without jeopardizing our service to others.

Do I need to be at the site when the items are delivered?
